I've fixed that. Now, of the seven references, only two are by his employer. He passes WP:PROF criterium #2 due to the prize and as ICM invited speaker and also criterium #1 due to him weing well-cited (for math, which is a low-citation field). Also, there is and entire Quanta Magazine article about this work. All of this should make it clear that he is notable. AgapiPhilotimo (talk) 19:46, 4 October 2026 (UTC)

Otis Avram Chodosh is a mathematician working in geometry and analysis of PDEs, and is known for his work on minimal surfaces.[1] He is an associate professor at Stanford University.[2] In 2026, he was awarded the New Horizons in Mathematics Prize.[3]

Education

[edit]

He obtained his PhD at Stanford in 2015, with Simon Brendle and Michael Eichmair as advisors (thesis: The geometry of asymptotically hyperbolic manifolds). He has supervised three Ph.D. students.[4][5]

Honors and awards

[edit]

In 2015, Chodosh was awarded the Walter J. Gores Award, Stanford's highest award for excellence in teaching.[2]

He received a Sloan Fellowship in 2020.[6]

He was awarded a Frontiers of Science Award jointly with Christos Mantoulidis in 2024.[7]

In 2026, he was awarded the New Horizons in Mathematics Prize, the citation reads "For contributions to differential geometry and the calculus of variations, including work on minimal surfaces and manifolds with positive scalar curvature.".[3]

He will delivered a lecture at the 2026 International Congress of Mathematicians.[7]
