Neko Health is a Swedish health tech company that offers technology-driven preventative health scans.[1][2] It was co-founded in 2018 by Daniel Ek and Hjalmar Nilsonne.[3] Neko Health is headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, with clinics in Stockholm, London, Manchester, Birmingham, and New York City.[4]

History

[edit]

Neko Health was founded in 2018 by Hjalmar Nilsonne and Daniel Ek, the founder and Executive Chairman of Spotify.[5][6] The company develops technology intended to support preventive healthcare and early disease detection.[7] Between 2018 and 2023, it developed its own hardware, software, and medical technology.[8][9]

In February 2023, Neko Health launched its first clinic in Stockholm, Sweden.[10] After immediate customer demand and a waitlist of up to 100,000 customers, Neko Health began expanding.[11] In 2024, Neko Health expanded to clinics in London and further across the UK, including Manchester and Birmingham.[12][13]

In January 2025, following its Series B funding, Neko Health announced the funding would be used for expansion across Europe, entering the U.S. market, and continuing to develop new diagnostic technologies.[14][15]

In June 2026, Neko launched the Neko Health App on iOS.[16]

Technology

[edit]

The Neko Health Scan combines imaging, physiological testing, laboratory analysis, and a clinician consultation during a single appointment.[17] The assessment includes 2D and 3D imaging, thermal imaging, and depth-sensing technology, measurements including blood pressure, body composition, and electrocardiography (ECG), cardiac and arterial assessments, and blood analysis.[18]

The assessment is used to identify health markers associated with conditions including cardiovascular disease, metabolic disorders, and some skin cancers.[19]

Funding

[edit]

In July 2023, Neko Health raised €60 million in a Series A funding round to support the development of its health scanning technology.[20]

In January 2025, the company raised $260 million in a Series B funding round at a reported valuation of $1.8 billion, with funding intended to support international expansion and further technological development.[21]

In July 2026, Neko Health raised $700 million in a Series C funding round to support its expansion, including into the United States.[22]
