Mercy Girl are a Scottish darkwave band from Glasgow, formed in 2024. Their music combines elements of darkwave, post-punk and electronic music.[1]
History
[edit]Mercy Girl was formed in Glasgow in 2024, by members Davey Purdie, Craig Harkness, Daisy Miles and Kylie MacNaughton-Wright .[2]
The band's members have described drawing on a range of influences including post-punk, industrial music, techno and electronic pop.[2][3]
Mercy Girl released their debut material during 2024 before issuing the EP Closer in 2025.[1] In 2025 the band released the EP No Sound, supported by live performances across the United Kingdom.[4]
Musical style
[edit]Mercy Girl have been described as a darkwave and electronic band incorporating elements of synth-pop and post-punk.[1] Their music combines synthesiser-driven arrangements with electronic production and atmospheric vocals.[5]

Reviewing a performance at Headrow House in Leeds, The Yorkshire Post praised the band's stage presence and described their performance as blending electronic textures with gothic aesthetics.[6]
