Mads Korsgaard (born 2 September 1979) is a Danish actor, singer and producer whose work has spanned theatre, opera, film, television and radio across the Nordic countries, Germany and Britain.[1][2][3]

Education

Korsgaard studied classical singing at the Royal College of Music, Stockholm before continuing his acting training at the Swedish National Academy of Mime and Acting.[4] In a 2008 interview in the Swedish music journal Fotnoten, he was described as studying singing at the Royal College of Music while also working professionally as a singer, singing teacher and choir director.[5]

Career

In 2009, Aarhus Stiftstidende published a substantial print profile of Korsgaard focusing on his background as a singer and actor, his training in Stockholm and his professional work in Sweden and Denmark.[6] The newspaper also covered his work with a children's musical-theatre summer programme in a related article and a later follow-up feature.[7][8]

A 2024 feature in the Danish actors' union magazine Sceneliv profiled Korsgaard's work as an actor and presenter in connection with changing working practices and the use of artificial intelligence in the profession.[9]

Theatre

Korsgaard has performed in theatre, musical and opera productions in Denmark and Sweden.[10][11][12][13]

Reviewing Anton Chekhov's Ivanov, theatre critic Lars Ring of Svenska Dagbladet described Korsgaard's performance as Dr. Lvov as "excellent".[14]

Alongside his work as a performer, Korsgaard has been involved in developing theatrical productions in Denmark and Sweden.[15][16]

Film and television

Korsgaard has appeared in feature films and television productions.[17][18][19][20][21]

In 2026, Korsgaard portrayed Gilbert Armenta in the German six-part ZDF miniseries Take the Money and Run, based on the OneCoin fraud case. Armenta is depicted as a close associate and business partner of Ruja Ignatova, portrayed by Nilam Farooq.[22][23][24][25]

Music

Alongside his acting career, Korsgaard has worked as a classical singer. He performed with the Swedish vocal ensemble Voces Nordicae, which combined choral music with theatrical performance.[26]

In 2009, Korsgaard and conductor Lone Larsen were featured on BBC Radio 3's Choir and Organ, discussing the ensemble's artistic work.[27]
