MEGA Events is a British live events and experiential entertainment company founded by managing director Nathan Reed.[1] The company develops, produces, promotes and tours concept driven events including The Rock Orchestra, Illuminated Orchestra and Silent Discos in Incredible Places.[1]

MEGA Events operates across the United Kingdom, Europe, the United States, Canada and Australia, delivering events in theatres, concert halls, arenas and heritage venues.

History

[edit]

MEGA Events was founded in 2010 by British event producer Nathan Reed.[2] One of its earliest national projects was the student focused The Big Freshers Icebreaker Tour.

During the mid 2010s, the company expanded into themed festivals and food and drink events, including The Great British Gin Festival, Rum & Reggae Festival and Foreverland.[3] MEGA Events later sold Foreverland in 2022.[1]

In 2018, MEGA Events entered an exclusive ticketing partnership with Eventbrite, covering events including Festival of the Dead, Pizza & Prosecco Festival and The Carnival of Light.[4]

By the early 2020s, MEGA Events had shifted focus towards orchestral crossover productions, including The Rock Orchestra, The London Film Music Orchestra and Illuminated Orchestra.[5] These productions combined live strings, film scores and theatrical staging in theatres and cathedrals across multiple territories.[5]

The Rock Orchestra features a 12 piece classical band performing interpretations of metal, alternative and classic rock songs, with a giant moving skull at the centre of the stage.[6]

By 2022, MEGA Events had launched the immersive touring concept Silent Discos in Incredible Places, which staged events at venues including the Eiffel Tower, the Eden Project, Sydney Town Hall, the British Museum and the Canadian Museum of History.[5]

In 2021, MEGA Events sold 214,000 tickets.[7] In 2024, the company sold 536,000 tickets, generating more than £24 million in revenue.[8]

MEGA Events was one of five UK event organisers included in Eventbrite’s inaugural Brite25 list, which recognised 25 organisers globally. Eventbrite stated that MEGA Events hosted more than 400 events across 189 cities in the previous year.[9]

Throughout 2025 and early 2026, MEGA Events toured The Rock Orchestra across Europe, North America, Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and Ireland.[10] The production also staged arena shows under the Arena of Fire banner at venues including 3Arena Dublin, Motorpoint Arena Nottingham and Utilita Arena Cardiff.[11][12]

Released under the independent MEGA Label, The Rock Orchestra – Classics, Vol. 1 reached number one on the Official Rock & Metal Albums Chart and the Official Record Store Chart.[13] The album included cover versions of tracks including Rage Against the Machine’s Killing in the Name and Led Zeppelin’s Stairway to Heaven.[14]

Founder

[edit]

MEGA Events was founded by event producer and creative director Nathan Reed, who serves as the company’s managing director.[7] Reed began his career as a musician and organised a small festival in Somerset before moving to London to launch MEGA Events.[7]

Reed serves as principal producer and creative director at MEGA Events and created The Rock Orchestra. He was also executive producer on The Rock Orchestra – Classics, Vol. 1.[13]

In 2025, Reed was recognised in the Forty Under 40 Awards following a nomination in the Events Management & Planning category.[15]
