Karta.io is a financial technology company founded in 2021 by Nik Zimarkov.[1] The company issues Visa payment cards and provides corporate expense management services.[citation needed] In 2025, it expanded into consumer stablecoin-based payments.[citation needed]
History
[edit]Nik Zimarkov, who had previously co-founded the mobile application SWIPE and operated a performance marketing agency, founded Karta.io in 2021.[1] The company stated that the platform originated as an internal expense management tool before being offered commercially.[citation needed]
In November 2021, Karta.io began issuing virtual Visa and Mastercard cards aimed at business expense management.[citation needed] In 2022, the company shifted its focus toward the e-commerce sector.[citation needed] In September 2023, it entered the US market.[citation needed]
In August 2025, the company launched a consumer card product, allowing individuals to spend USDT and USDC stablecoins via the Visa network.[citation needed] In May 2026, Karta.io announced an integration with the Tempo blockchain network for payment settlement.[citation needed]
