Jim Cox is an American editorial cartoonist, comic-strip creator, illustrator, and freelance artist. He is the creator and artist of the self-syndicated comic strip Tex & Clem, which began in 2021. His work includes comic strips, editorial cartoons, single-panel cartoons, caricatures, and illustrations.[1]
   == Career ==
   Cox began drawing cartoons as a child and later studied art and animation at the Art Institute of Dallas. A January 2022 article in the Tribune Progress identified Cox as the creator of Tex & Clem and discussed his background in drawing and animation.[2]
   Cox's professional work includes editorial cartoons, single-panel gag cartoons, comic strips, caricatures, and illustrations. His work has appeared in newspapers and other publications in multiple U.S. states.[1]
   == Tex & Clem ==
   Tex & Clem is a comic strip created and illustrated by Cox. The strip began in 2021 and follows the adventures of Tex, a cowboy, and Clem, his horse and comic co-star. The strip uses Western settings and humor centered on the relationship between the two characters.[1]
   The Tribune Progress announced in January 2022 that Tex & Clem would join its comics page, describing the strip as following the Old West adventures of cowboy Tex and his horse, Clem. The article also identified the Canton Herald and Weekly Bulletin among newspapers carrying the strip at that time.[2]
   Other recurring characters include Daisy Belle and Pistol Pete, whom Serve Daily identified in its profile of the strip.[1]
   A January 2025 profile in The Rhode Island Wave described Tex & Clem as a self-syndicated comic strip and reported that it was appearing in multiple states and newspapers.[3]
