Guardsi (also known as Guardsi Cybersecurity; legally Guardsi Tecnologia LTDA) is a Brazilian information security company headquartered in Uberlândia, Minas Gerais. It provides penetration testing and related offensive security services. Founded in 2015, it won the Cyber Security category of the 2018 Innovation Awards Latam.

History

[edit]

The company was registered in Uberlândia on 25 September 2015.[1]

In July 2018, it was named winner of the Cyber Security category of the Innovation Awards Latam, a competition for Latin American startups organised by the Brazilian firm Cantarino Brasileiro, at a ceremony held in São Paulo on 30 July. According to the organiser, the 2018 edition received more than 800 entries and had 27 finalists across six categories. The organiser described the company at the time as a provider of consulting, training, services and products for IT and security teams; its then executive director, Leandro Rezende, said it focused on small and medium-sized businesses.[2] The award was reported by the local newspaper Diário de Uberlândia.[3]

As of 2026, the company is led by chief executive Guilherme Junqueira, a graduate in information systems from the Federal University of Uberlândia.[4]

Services

[edit]

Guardsi's main service is penetration testing, in which its staff attempt to break into a client's systems in order to identify vulnerabilities. An engagement consists of scoping, testing, support for the client's team in fixing the reported flaws, and a retest to validate the fixes. The company states that its methodology is based on OWASP, MITRE ATT&CK and the Penetration Testing Execution Standard (PTES), and that its testers hold certifications such as OSCP and OSWE.[5]

Other services include phishing simulations and security awareness training, social engineering tests against customer service channels such as telephone, chat and e-mail, incident response and investigation, and threat intelligence monitoring of data leaks on the dark web and online forums.[5]

Solyd

[edit]

The company operates Solyd, an online training brand for penetration testers that its terms of service describe as the educational arm of Guardsi, run under the same legal entity.[6] Solyd issues practical certifications, including the Solyd Certified Pentester (SYCP), awarded after a 72-hour hands-on exam, a written report and an interview.[4] Guardsi requires its own penetration testers to hold the SYCP.[5]
