Gordon McCannel Aamoth Jr. (August 8, 1969 – September 11, 2001) was an American investor who worked for Sandler O'Neill & Partners as an investment banker. He was one of the victims of the September 11 attacks.[1]
Biography
[edit]Gordon was born on August 8, 1969 in Walton Beach, Florida to parents Mary and Gordon Aamoth.[2] He was a 1988 graduate of Blake School and a 1992 graduate of Babson College, where he received a business degree. He then became an investment banker for Sandler O'Neill & Partners in 1993. He previously worked at Piper Jaffray in Minneapolis.[3] He resided in New York City.[4]
Death
[edit]Gordon died in the South Tower on the 104th floor during the attacks. He was declared missing and then was presumed dead. His remains were later found next to a glass piece. His family then held a memorial service on September 20, and was buried at Lakewood Cemetery in Minneapolis.[3] A memorial was placed in Wayzata, Minnesota in honour of him.[5]
