FutureBridge is a global innovation and strategy consulting firm that advises executive, strategy, innovation and research-and-development functions on future-facing growth, technology and market decisions.[1][2] Founded in 2000, the firm examines how emerging technologies, market shifts, regulation, competition and new business models may reshape industries over a one-to-25-year horizon.[1]

Its work focuses on complex strategic and innovation decisions where technical feasibility, market attractiveness and timing need to be considered together. Assignments include identifying growth opportunities and market adjacencies, assessing emerging technologies, prioritising innovation and R&D choices, evaluating business-model options, and translating selected opportunities into strategic roadmaps, partner ecosystems and adoption plans.[2][3]

FutureBridge works across food, agriculture and nutrition; life sciences; home and personal care; energy; chemicals and natural resources; mobility; and industrial equipment.[1] According to the company, it has more than 500 employees across science, engineering and consulting, a global network of more than 5,000 industry experts, relationships with more than 200 Fortune 500 corporations, clients in more than 70 countries and experience across more than 30 industries.[1]

FutureBridge traces its origins to 2000, when the business was established as Cheers Interactive.[1] It subsequently developed a consulting and advisory model combining industry research, technology analysis and strategic decision support.

The firm has offices in Utrecht, Netherlands; London, United Kingdom; Morristown, New Jersey, United States; and Navi Mumbai, India.[1] Its sector practices are supported by cross-industry research covering technologies, markets, regulation, competitors, start-ups and emerging business models.

Advisory model and strategic decision support

FutureBridge's public materials organise its work around three broad stages: interpreting change, developing strategic choices, and supporting implementation.[2] Its stated client functions include Strategy & Futures, R&D & Innovation, Growth & Market Development, Manufacturing, Production & Logistics, and Sustainability.[2]

At the strategic level, the firm focuses on questions about the future shape of a business: which technologies and capabilities to build, buy or partner for; which markets, applications or adjacencies offer the strongest growth potential; where unmet needs or regulatory change may create new opportunities; and how portfolios should be prioritised under uncertainty.[2] It uses horizon scanning, scenario planning, technology and market evaluation, competitive analysis, opportunity mapping and business-model assessment to support these choices.[2]

In 2020, Concawe, the scientific and technical body associated with the European refining industry, commissioned FutureBridge to conduct a technology-scouting study of carbon-capture technologies.[5] Concawe stated that the study, conducted by FutureBridge at its request, examined commercial, near-term and emerging technologies using factors including capture efficiency, carbon-dioxide purity, costs, risks and barriers.[5]

FutureBridge has also been represented in energy and electrical-engineering forums. CWIEME Berlin's 2026 programme listed FutureBridge speakers in sessions on grid digitalisation, artificial intelligence in asset management, decarbonisation of the copper value chain and regulatory change affecting electrical equipment.[6][7]

Food, agriculture and nutrition

FutureBridge's food, agriculture and nutrition work covers consumer demand, ingredients, food technology, manufacturing, supply-chain change, sustainability, start-up ecosystems and innovation strategy.[8]

In 2020, FoodNavigator reported FutureBridge research on emerging plant proteins and the nutritional, processing and sustainability issues associated with plant-based foods.[9] The publication later reported a separate three-year FutureBridge review of sugar-reduction technologies and new bioprocesses for low-calorie sweeteners.[10]

EIT Food has also cited FutureBridge's work. Its 2025 analysis of food trends referenced a FutureBridge forecast on nutritional solutions across life stages and stated that EIT Food shared the prediction.[11] EIT Food also featured FutureBridge in a 2025 podcast discussing regenerative agriculture, biotechnology, artificial intelligence and changing food systems.[12]

In 2026, Produce News covered FutureBridge research on fresh-food merchandising and consumer behaviour, including a study examining the interaction of policy, economics, healthcare and consumer behaviour.[13] The publication later reported that the research headlined the education programme at the 2026 Viva Fresh Expo.[14]

Life sciences and home and personal care

FutureBridge researchers have contributed to peer-reviewed dermatology research. A study published in the Journal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology analysed global skin-cancer epidemiology and dermatologist density and listed FutureBridge among the institutional affiliations alongside La Roche-Posay Laboratoire Dermatologique and academic medical institutions.[16] PubMed records FutureBridge as an institutional affiliation for 2 of the authors and identifies the study sponsor.[17]

Chemicals and natural resources

FutureBridge's chemicals and natural-resources work covers chemicals, materials, bio-based industries, natural resources, circularity, alternative feedstocks, industrial biotechnology, supply-chain economics and regulation.[18]

At the 2025 CLIB International Conference, FutureBridge moderated a panel on regulation and industrial biotechnology that included participants from industry, academia and former European Commission leadership.[19][20]

The firm's public case material also describes work on growth and portfolio questions in chemicals, including application scouting and feasibility analysis for a large petrochemical company seeking new markets for a bio-based product.[21]
