Exit Party is an upcoming live-action series based on the novel of the same name by Emily St. John Mandel, and it's being developed by Laika Studios and Emma Stone and Dave McCary's company Fruit Tree.[1] It's also Laika's return to television since their adult animated series Slacker Cats.

Production

In October 2025, a bidding war for the novel Exit Party, released in September 2026, was offered to many companies with writer Jac Schaeffer attached to showrun with author Emily St. John Mandel.[2] However, in March 2026, Laika Studios officially bought off the rights as their first live-action series from their Laika Live Action division with Emma Stone and Dave McCary on board to executive produce under their company Fruit Tree while Schaeffer reportedly dropped out before the announcement.[1]
