Daniel David Shafer (born July 15, 1959) is an American singer, songwriter, musician, and producer known for his work as a commercial vocalist and for competing on Season 11 of NBC’s The Voice. Shafer provided lead vocals and character voices for numerous national advertising campaigns during the 1990s, including Transformers: Generation 2, Matchbox “Lightning Key Cars,” Alien 3 “Space Marines,” BC Powder, AT&T, and Pizza Hut. Biography
[edit]Shafer was born in Bussac‑sur‑Charente, France, to Germaine Doulon and David Shafer, an American soldier stationed in the region. The family later relocated to Torrington, Connecticut.
Career
[edit]Shafer began performing at a young age, at high school dances, camp grounds, parties and local clubs. Shafer eventually became the lead vocalist for Mercenary on (Portrait Records) and performed with the Group Orphan on (Polygram Records).

[edit]Shafer has included work in rock and commercial music. He has performed as a session vocalist and is known for adapting his voice to different musical styles when working in studio settings. [edit]Shafer appeared on Season 11 of NBC’s The Voice in 2016. His blind audition performance of Train’s “Marry Me” earned him a place on Team Blake Shelton.
