About

[edit]

CodeTorch is a Website (also an alternative to the programming language Scratch) that uses Block Coding.

It can be used to create games, animations, art, and more. The site has many popular users, due to their frequent activity.

A CodeTorch project can be made in 5 languages: HTML, CSS, Blocks, Python, and JavaScript.[1]

It also has an AI assistant named Torchy, who is also the mascot of the website.[2]

It's block coding engine relies on TurboWarp, an engine that converts blocks to JavaScript to make the project run faster.[3]

Timeline and History

[edit]

CodeTorch started in March, 2025, as a small Scratch alternative. Later it started to gain users, getting more popular every time. In early 2026, CodeTorch released their Python editor, which featured a GUI console and a white box for the Turtle Module.

In late 2026, they released a feature where you can access live editing on HTML/CSS/JavaScript projects. You can invite Collaborators to help work on the project.

System

[edit]

Once you make a project, you can mark it 13+ if it is not intended for all ages. [4]If you fail to use proper discretion, then your project may be reported and banned from CodeTorch. If you make a comment or post that is inappropriate, then you will get a Warning. If you get too many warnings, it could result in your account being banned. [5]
