Basil David Anthony (born 1986) is a Ghanaian-British entrepreneur.[1] He is the founder and chief executive officer of Modern Floors and Walls, an interior finishing and flooring company with operations in Ghana and international product distribution channels.[2]
Career
[edit]In 2017, Anthony founded Modern Floors and Walls, a brand specializing in vinyl tiles, artificial turf, and interior finishing materials.[1][2] Under his management, the company established retail showroom footprints in Accra, Ghana, and expanded its distribution infrastructure to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, alongside managing product sales on global e-commerce platforms.[2] In 2026, the firm initiated structural market entry strategies within the East African construction and interior solutions sector, focusing on retail hubs in Kenya.[2]
He has previously operated initiatives across digital event ticketing distribution and information technology sectors in West Africa.[1]
Awards and recognition
[edit]Anthony's corporate activities have received several industry recognitions. In 2024, he won the Forty Under 40 Africa Award in the Home and Decor category at an event held in Nairobi, Kenya.[3] In 2025, he was named the Most Influential Décor & Interior Solutions Entrepreneur of the Year at the 16th Ghana Entrepreneurs Awards organized by the Entrepreneurs Foundation of Ghana.[2]
In the same year, the Pan African Youth Leadership Foundation named him among the 100 Most Influential Young Africans in their Africa 100 League of Exceptionals roster.[1] He was also named CEO of the Year at the 2025 Global Trade & Business Awards.[4]
Author and community work
[edit]Anthony is the author of Dream Bigger: The Young Entrepreneur's Journal, a goal-setting and instructional text designed to foster youth entrepreneurship in Africa.[1] Through his philanthropic foundation, he established the Studentpreneurship & Enterprise Development (SEED) Clubs in public basic schools, partnering with regional education directorates in Ghana to teach foundational business execution skills to young learners.[5]
