He later developed an interest in beat-making and learned production at a studio in Mombasa. in a 2020 interview, Taifa leo reported that, he travelled to Zanzibar in 2004 after his early work attracted attention there.[1]

Shirko later worked with Mkubwa na Wanawe Youth Organisation in Dar es Salaam, an organisation involved in developing young talent in music and other performing arts. Taifa Leo reported that he worked with emerging artists through the organisation before becoming involved in the development of Yamoto Band.[2]

Mwanaspoti reported on an interview that, Shirko worked with more than 30 Tanzanian artists during his career as a producer.[4] The publication identified him as the producer behind recordings involving Diamond Platnumz, Yamoto Band and Aslay.[2]

Yamoto Band

Shirko was involved in the development of Yamoto Band and worked with its young members, including Aslay, Mbosso, Enock Bella and Beka Fleva. In an interview with Taifa Leo, he described himself as one of the founders of the group and discussed his role in recording and developing its members.[2]

His production work during this period included recordings associated with Diamond Platnumz and other Tanzanian artists.
