[edit]Avicen was founded in Oman in 2009 by Managing Director Nissar Edathum Chalil.[2] Beginning as a single pharmacy outlet, the group expanded into a multi-branch retail pharmacy network, established outpatient medical centers, and built a wholesale distribution division for pharmaceutical products.[2][1]
In October 2025, Avicen launched a mobile healthcare e-commerce application complementing its online retail platform, Avicen Online, covering skincare, baby care, personal care, and over-the-counter products.[2][3]
