AVA WAGNER

Abstract

Ava Wagner was born in Woodbury, Minnesota on June 22, 2005. Her grandmother owned a dance studio called Larkin Dance studio and started training in 2008. She continues to teach dance at Larkin dance studio. She is mostly known for starring in season 3 of World of Dance and being on the Minnesota dance team. She competed with her sister in the World of Dance and placed 3rd. She was on the Minnesota dance team for 2 years and won 2 national titles; both titles were for D1A Pom in 2024 and 2025. Her performances on World of Dance influenced many other dancers and the dance culture along with her national titles.

Both of these events launched her career into what it is today. Her dedication to dance has influenced others that hard work pays off in the end. Today she is working with choreographer Derek Hough (also known as a judge on Dancing with the Stars) and is going on tour with him this summer. She has also recently appeared in her first commercial dance ad for GAP and even had a solo part. While she has just started her professional career, she is quickly becoming a global superstar in Dance culture.

Avas Grandmother helped keep the dance community deeply connected to her family. Ava then started dancing at the age of 2 years old.

The Beginning of her Dance Career

Being a huge part of Larkin Dance Studio and being immersed in dance since age 2, dance began to be the foundation of her career. While being a part of the dance community, she had the opportunity to work with many well-known choreographers (ex. Molly Long). While having these opportunities, her hard work and talent was being recognized. In 2018, She was awarded Junior Best Female Dancer at The Dance Awards that was being held in "Orlando, Florida. A few years later, Ava graduates and then decides to commit to University of Minnesota and was then a part of their dance team. She was on the Minnesota dance team for about 2 years, while reaching a high level of success, becoming a 2024 National D1A National Champion.
