Andikan[1] is a unisex name given to a child in Ibibio land, Akwa Ibom State, Southern Nigeria. Andikan means "a conquerer" or "an overcome". Etymologically, Andikan is derived from two Ibibio words; "Andi" meaning "a person who" and "Kan" meaning "to win" or to "overcome". When joined together it becomes "Andikan" translating to a "person who wins or an overcomer".
