A1 Football Club (commonly A1FC) is an association football team based in Northern Ireland.[1] The club was officially founded in 2023 and has competed in many regional leagues and competitions, however the club has competed since 1889 under different names until the reuniting of the club in 2023. A1 Football Club most recently played in Division 4 of the Eddie Irvine's League. The club originates from a local community in Bangor Northern Ireland and plays its home matches at Clandeboye Park Playing Fields.[2] The club was founded in 1889 and has a long-standing history within grassroots football. In their most recent season, the 2025 Summer Season, A1FC finished 5th, narrowly missing out on the playoffs.[3]
In 2023, A1 Football Club was acquired by Northern Irish business, Fizz Incorporated, a company led by former players and managers of the club, such as; John Smith, William Underwood, and Matthew Molloy. Shortly after the acquisition, A1 Football Club won their first major tournament since 1999, winning the Y10 Football Tournament and receiving 2 out of 4 of the best player awards.
Shortly after this trophy win, A1 Football Club joined the Eddie Irvine's League in Division 4 during the 2024 Winter Season, where they finished 8th, equal on points with Full Kit Winners in their respective inaugural seasons.
A1 Football Club has established partnerships with other clubs including; Full Kit Winners (EI Div 4), and Peking Garden (EI Div 3 Champions), Bangor Swifts, and Bryansburn Rangers[4]
