ClueBot III archiving issue

Due to a bug in the way ClueBot_III was handling `maxkeepbytes` it may have prematurely archived sections between ~16:45 and ~16:54. Archive box

Any idea why it's still appending the empty archive link on my talk page, even after I had it deleted? I created that one manually before I realized it needed to follow either the number or date format, but it was never utilized - just listed there automatically. I tried removing the template and adding back to see if it would re-check for existing pages within the archive subpage, but no dice. I believe because it is listed on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:ClueBot_III/Indices/User_talk:ChompyTheGogoat, that page should get updated by the bot eventually (it is built from all pages under the archive prefix).

Currently we don't have great metrics for when a page was last processed, but it should happen roughly at least once per day. - Damian Zaremba ^{(talk • contribs)} 17:42, 17 September 2026 (UTC)

Looking at the logs it should have removed it `[2026-09-17T21:25:23.681271+01:00] cluebot3.INFO: [User talk:ChompyTheGogoat] generating index page [] []` (that was after the page delete).

I'm not sure why it didn't as that page is built from https://en.wikipedia.org/w/api.php?action=query&rawcontinue=1&list=allpages&apprefix=ChompyTheGogoat/Archive&apnamespace=3&aplimit=500, which (at least currently) does not include the page.

I just explicitly ran the logic for your page and it doesn't get put back, so things should stay fixed.
